Archive & Delete

The Art Manager provides two ways to remove content from normal use: Archiving and Deleting.
Archiving preserves content and existing user scenes, while deleting permanently removes content and will remove it from scenes that use it.
Archiving
Archiving removes Assets, Packs, and Styles from normal use while keeping them available in the Art Manager. Archived content can be restored at any time.
When an Asset is archived, it is removed from the Catalog but remains available in existing user scenes. Archiving never changes or removes content that has already been placed in a scene.
When an Asset is archived, its internal filename is renamed by appending _archive and a unique identifier. This preserves filename uniqueness, allows a new Asset to be uploaded using the original filename, and prevents archived Assets from being updated accidentally during future uploads.
Enable the Show Archived filter to display archived content in the Art Manager and Catalog. Archived items remain clearly marked and can be restored or permanently deleted when eligible.
Packs and Styles can only be archived after all contained content has been archived. This ensures that the hierarchy remains consistent and no active content becomes inaccessible.
Deleting
Deleting permanently removes Assets, Packs, and Styles from the Art Manager and cannot be undone.
Unlike archiving, deleted Assets are also removed from existing scenes that use them. Only delete content when you are certain it is no longer needed.
Assets, Packs, and Styles can only be deleted when they no longer have dependencies. See Deletion Restrictions below for the requirements.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN DELETING ASSETS, THEY CANNOT BE RECOVERED ONCE DELETED!
Deletion Restrictions
Assets, Packs, and Styles can only be deleted after all dependencies have been removed.
Published Assets cannot be deleted.
Packs must be empty before they can be deleted.
Styles must be empty before they can be deleted.
Content may need to be unpublished or emptied before deletion becomes available.
Tips
Archive content instead of deleting it whenever possible. Archiving preserves existing scenes and allows the content to be restored later.
Review existing scenes before deleting Assets, as deleted Assets are also removed from scenes that use them.
Show archived content periodically to review items that may be safe to remove permanently.
