Cloning

Cloning creates a new private, editable copy of a map and adds it to your Maps page. The cloned map can be opened and edited independently, and changes to it do not affect the source map.

Which Maps Can Be Cloned?

A map can only be cloned when:

  • The map has been published.

  • The author has enabled Cloning.

  • The map does not contain private Assets.

If a published map is not Cloneable, you can still view it but cannot create an editable copy.

Official Templates and Tutorials may also be available for cloning as starting points for your own maps.

Paid Feature

Map Cloning is available with a paid subscription.

What Happens When You Clone a Map?

When you clone a map:

  • A new private copy is created in your account.

  • You become the owner of that copy.

  • You can open and edit it like your own maps.

  • Changes to your clone do not affect the original map.
