Texture Assets

A Texture Asset is an image used with the Brush Tool to paint colors, surfaces, and terrain onto Brush Layers.

Preparing Texture Images

Texture Assets repeat across the painted area, so they should tile seamlessly along all four edges to avoid visible seams or breaks. The uploaded image represents a single repeating tile that is repeated according to the selected Texture size in the Brush Tool.

Textures can also contain transparent or semi-transparent areas. Use PNG when transparency is needed, for example for details such as cracks, dirt, moss, tracks, or other surface variations that should blend with the content underneath.

Tips

  • Check all four edges of the image before uploading to ensure it tiles seamlessly.

  • Avoid strong details that create repeating pattern.

  • Use Alpha Textures for details that should blend with an existing surface rather than replace it.
