The Note Tool is used to add private notes to your map. Notes can be used to keep track of ideas, reminders, lore, or other information while working on a project. Notes are only visible while using the Note Tool and are not included when exporting your map.
Select the Note Tool by clicking its icon in the toolbar or pressing N. Click anywhere on the canvas to create a new note.
Notes
Each note consists of a location marker, a title, and a text body.
Click anywhere on the canvas to create a new note. To move an existing note, click and drag its location marker while the Note Tool is selected.
When a new note is created, or an existing note is opened via double-click, a text editor appears where you can edit its contents. The editor supports the following formatting options:
Headings (H1, H2, and H3)
Bullet lists
Numbered lists
Bold
Italic
Underline
StrikethroughHyperlinks
Note List
All notes in the current map are displayed in the panel on the left side of the Note Tool.
Selecting a note from the list opens it for editing. Clicking a note marker on the canvas also opens the corresponding note.
Tips
Use notes to record ideas or reminders while working on your map.
Add descriptive titles to make notes easier to find in the note list.
Place note markers close to the area they describe to make them easier to locate later.
Use headings and lists to organize longer notes.
