The Color Picker is used throughout Inkarnate to select and customize colors. It is available in tools and settings that support solid colors, such as the Brush Tool, Text Tool, Line & Shape Tools, shadows, and other appearance properties.

Click a color preview to open the Color Picker.

Choosing a Color

The Color Picker provides several ways to select a color.

  • Color Field: Choose a color by clicking anywhere within the color field.

  • Hue Slider: Adjust the hue while preserving the selected saturation and brightness.

  • Eyedropper: Pick a color directly from anywhere on the map.

  • Color Values: Enter an exact color using HEX, RGB, HSL, or HSV values.

  • Color Presets: Quickly select from a range of preset colors and brightness or saturation variations.

Tips

  • Use the Eyedropper to match colors that already exist on your map.

  • Enter HEX values when you need to use an exact color.

  • Save commonly used colors as Favorites in the Brush tool to maintain a consistent color palette across your maps.
